restorative practice

is the fabric that holds the space of healing and wellness in balance. It is at the intersection of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing and wellness.

what is healing justice?

“Healing Justice” is a political strategy conceived in 2005, and formally launched in 2006 by the Kindred Southern Healing Justice Collective to intervene and respond on generational trauma and systemic oppression, and build community/survivor led responses rooted in southern traditions of resiliency to sustain our emotional/physical/spiritual/psychic and environmental well being.

TAKING ROOT

Powerful Voices’ Healing Justice Initiative

Powerful Voices’ Taking Root Healing Justice initiative was created in response to the mental health crisis that BIPoC girls and gender expansive youth are experiencing in our communities. This initiative is designed to support BIPoC youth, their families, and the phenomenal youth advocates experiencing burnout and vicarious trauma. We are all in need of care, rest and a radical reimagining of healing.

We partner with BIPoC girls and gender expansive youth, staff, mental health practitioners, and community partners to develop and integrate mental health supports that cultivate healing-centered, trauma-informed and culturally responsive best practices. We foster healing spaces where young people can root themselves in ancestral healing practices and create their own narrative to promote liberation from generational trauma, systemic violence, and oppression.

Our offerings

Healing Justice Fellowship

Our fellowship is open both young people (ages 11 - 19) as well as adults (ages 20+). Our fellowship is for BIPOC women, girls & gender expansive folks.

Our fellows will support peers, help develop curriculum, support with program and event planning, and help engage peers & community members.

Free therapy!

Vouchers are available on a first come first serve basis for BIPoC girls and gender expansive youth ages 10-19 and their families who reside in Puget Sound. They can be used for therapy and other wellness services that take place virtually or in-person within King County.

We partner with many different wellness and mental health practitioners (therapists, counselors, etc.) in the Puget Sound area. If you’d like to get connected to a BIPoC wellness practitioner, vouchers are available to support you on your wellness journey.

When funding is exhausted, the form will convert to a waitlist and you can be notified when more vouchers become available.

Are you a BIPOC wellness practitioner?

We are recruiting BIPOC wellness practitioners with anti-oppression to join our network of wellness practitioners and partner for our Wellness Speaker series. We would love to connect with you! Email Leanne or Jen to set up an introductory conversation and see how we can potentially collaborate!
