Powerful Voices presented
THE GIRL IN YOUR LIFE: How
to talk, listen, and be present in a girl's life.
Powerful Voices is celebrating it's tenth
year in the community! As we begin this landmark
year, we are reaching out to parents, friends, and mentors of girls.
This free community event focused on ways
that we as parents, friends, and mentors can help girls experience adolescence
as a time of opportunity.
This discussion was lead by Julie Metzger, R.N., M.N., a pediatric nurse,
writer, and educator on parent-child communication in adolescence.
She developed her popular Heart to Heart, For Girls Only program in 1989,
and has taught the class to over 10,000 mother- daughter teams.
She is a co-designer and instructor of several other classes aimed at
fostering child-parent communication in adolescence and is a nurse consultant
to Children's Hospital. Julie is also a member of our board of
directors.
