Healing Justice Fellowship

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the Healing Justice program as a fellow! This opportunity is for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) girls & gender expansive youth (ages 13-19and BIPOC adults (ages 20+) to partner with the Healing Justice Team to share in learning, community care, and mentorship.

We understand Healing Justice as the fabric that holds the space of healing and wellness in balance. It is at the intersection of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing and wellness. Powerful Voices’ Taking Root Healing Justice initiative will address and provide support through the systemic racism and sexism of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) girls and gender expansive young folks.

The Healing Justice Team works alongside young people, staff, mental health providers, and community partners to provide mental health and wellness support rooted in culture, healing, and community. In this Fellowship, we weave the wisdom of land, plant and ancestry into collective care within our communities. Join us to deepen your connection to sovereign ancestral medicine through the utilization of peacekeeping circles as a way to link generations past, present, and future. The wisdom of Indigenous peoples are sacred, and each perspective contributes to healing in the circle. Together we build the worlds that are to come, affirm your part in the creation of space, place, and power that transcends the human world. The Healing Justice Team works to foster healing spaces where young people can root themselves in ancestral healing practices and create their own narratives to promote liberation from generational trauma, systemic violence, and oppression.
